A weekend in Charleston!

Hi friends!! I finally found the time to sit down and go through all my pictures from my recent weekend trip to Charleston! Charleston is one of my favorite places to visit. I love the shops, restaurants, and overwhelming history. Although it was crazy hot, my family and I had a great time celebrating my dad’s 50th birthday!! I thought I’d share a little about our trip in case your planning a trip to Charleston or you just love it as much as I do!

We got there late Friday night so our trip started Saturday. We stayed at The Inns, and y’all wow it was such an exciting place to stay. They have 3 inns in Charleston that are renovated old, historical homes! I found them on Airbnb and thought it would be a fun place to stay to feel a little more like a Charleston local. Anyway, we stayed at 154 Spring street and we loved every minute of it. So much space which is a priority in this family of five. It was also so clean and decorated so beautifully! It was a short four block walk to king street and 5-minute walk to Hominy grill, one of my favorite breakfast spots! I’d highly recommend staying here if you want to stay in a little piece of Charleston history with a great amount of space. We stayed on the second floor. We never saw the guests staying on the first or third so it was almost like a private home. Each floor has its own locked door, so it truly is your own space. I’ll include pictures of our floor below! It was a 3 bedroom, 2 bath!

This bathroom connected the 2 guest rooms! It was so spacious and clean. The 3 of us shared it easily 🙂

On Saturday, we got up and headed straight for Hominy grill. I’ve been there before and had to go back with my whole family. I’d get there early, especially on weekends because the line gets long! I enjoyed a palmetto cheese biscuit, and buttermilk pancakes! So Yum!

We then shopped around on King Street for a little before wondering if we were all going to melt into puddles so we headed back to the Inn. I did manage to make it into my favorite store, Simply J boutique! Highly recommend for cute affordable clothes in Charleston. We also stopped at Jenni’s ice cream which is my favorite ice cream in the whole world! We opted for a car ride to Mount Pleasant and ate at a fun little restaurant off the water. Mount Pleasant is a short 10-minute drive from Charleston and is worth checking out! They offer so many fun restaurants and shops! We also drove around Sullivan’s island a little before heading in for the night!

Milkiest chocolate from Jenni’s! I would eat this everyday if I could!

Charleston you are stunning!

Sunday was my dad’s birthday and Father’s Day! We started the day by opening presents and indulging in ham biscuits from Callies hot little Biscuits! We then got dressed and headed out to Battery Park. The twins and I sat by the Pineapple fountain while my parents checked out the boardwalk. After walking around for a little, we headed to Jestines kitchen for an early dinner. I had a palmetto cheese BLT with a side of fried okra! So yum oh my word. Jestines is one of my favorite local restaurants to go to in Charleston! Talk about southern comfort food! Anyway, to finish off the day we took a sunset boat tour with sandlapper water tours! We saw a couple dolphins and a gorgeous sunset! I’d recommend them for water adventures in Charleston! We ended the night with one last trip to Jenni’s because y’all it’s so good!

Monday, it was time to leave. The twins and I had a quick little photo shoot on Rainbow Row before making the trip home and I have to say we had so fun with all the different walls. It lasted a solid 10 minutes before we ran to the car to avoid melting in to the sidewalk. Either way we had fun with it. On the way out of town we stopped at East Bay Deli and it was so good! Such a fun place if you’re looking for a good Sandwich! After that we headed home with full stomachs and hearts! I’m so thankful for the sweet weekend I had in Charleston and I’m already dreaming of going back! I’d love to hear your Charleston favorites!! Thanks for following along!

Wonderful . . . what a gift you have . . . don’t forget, Charleston is where I first saw the light of day, April 5, 1944. They took down the plaque and tore down the hospital.
